PowerProtect Series by Dell Technologies: Improved stability and resiliency against Cyberattacks
Around the world, with the increase in user-generated data and the exponential industrial value of data, its protection becomes vital as well. Keeping this in mind, Dell Technologies has launched a series of updates to its storage and data protection appliances, which include expanded integrations between the PowerProtect and VMware Tanzu portfolios.
The PowerProtect DP series appliances, the successor of its Integrated Data Protection Appliance (IDPA) has expanded to offer faster backups (up to 38% faster) and faster restores (up to 45% faster), and up to a 50% increase in IOPS. These new appliances have hardware-assisted compression, which has higher deduplication rates and 30% higher capacity making them highly efficient.
To deliver enhanced Kubernetes and cloud protection via new support for the VMware Tanzu portfolio, the PowerProtect Data Manager is updated. Building and managing modern applications becomes simple with VMware Tanzu. It also supports workloads deployed in Microsoft Azure and AWS. The Data Manager also supports PostgreSQL, Apache Cassandra, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service and Azure Kubernetes Service. The Data Manager updates are designed to provide an easier and more efficient mechanism for VM and data protection purposes.
Data protection is not an all-purpose proposition. Amid increased cyber-attacks, Dell Technologies’ advance and integrated appliances portfolio and software-defined data protection offerings help customers manage today’s challenges while keeping an eye on what lies ahead.
